Eurydice by Greg Williams hangs proudly in our home in the USA and represents our family’s magical five years in Madrid in the early 2000’s. Just like the painting, our lives were full of movement, light and dark, passion, and beauty. As expats in Spain with young children, Greg introduced us to the idea of owning original art, and this was the first purchase in our collection. Three years ago, Greg was painting this painting at the same time as we were teaching a seminar on "What Table We Sit At". Is it a table where you can't rest, where you always have to be doing and pleasing others in order to have a place at the table, or are you sitting at God's table where you don't need to do anything and can only receive? Greg asked us what we hoped to convey through the painting. As a reference we told him about Ruvlev's painting of the Trinity.
